As I sit here continuing to reflect on Certified Nurses Day, I want to once again say how inspiring it is to be part of a community that values growth, professionalism, and excellence in nursing. It’s been so very energizing to see the pride that comes with certification and the support nurses give each other along the way.

This month, the MSNCB Board of Directors is coming together to continue our work of advocating for you, our certificants and future certificants, in medical-surgical and acute-care virtual nursing. This work includes ensuring our certifications remain relevant, credible, and reflective of today’s nursing practice, while also amplifying the voices of nurses who are providing complex, compassionate care across a variety of medical-surgical settings. Everything we do as a board is grounded in supporting your professional growth and recognizing the evolving role of nurses at the bedside and beyond.

As we approach National Nurses Week, I encourage you to pause and think about how we support and celebrate one another. Recognition is important, but it’s often the everyday moments that mean the most: thanking a colleague, offering encouragement during a tough shift, or holding each other accountable with professionalism and respect. Let’s celebrate nurses not only for what we do, but for who we are: advocates, professionals, teammates, and lifelong learners. It's these everyday moments that have the greatest impact, strengthening our culture and lifting one another up.

Thank you for the passion, commitment, and excellence you bring to nursing every day. It is an honor to serve alongside you and to advocate for the growth and recognition of our specialty through certification. I am proud of this community and grateful for your trust in MSNCB as we continue to move nursing forward, together. I look forward to celebrating National Nurses Week with you.
