Med-Surg Nurses Week Spotlight: Jacqueline Savalle

Med-Surg Nurses Week Spotlight: Jacqueline Savalle

By Jacqueline Savalle, MS, RN, CMSRN

We asked the AMSN Members why and how they celebrate Med-Surg Nurses Week. Here's what member Jacqueline Savalle, MS, RN, CMSRN, had to say about her love for medical-surgical nursing:

AMSN: What do you love most about being a medical-surgical nurse?

Jacqueline Savalle, MS, RN, CMSRN (JS): Medical-surgical nursing is the heart of inpatient healthcare. We get the joy of caring for a wide variety of patients and conditions. It requires a wider breadth of knowledge to properly advocate for and treat our patients. Our specialty also allows us to watch our patients progress through healthcare troubles and enable them to manage their disease outside of the hospital. Even within the medical-surgical specialty, there are so many sub-specialties I love learning from. Our specialty truly amazes me with what we are capable of!

AMSN: What encouragement/message do you have for the AMSN community celebrating Med-Surg Nurses Week this year?

JS: Happy Med-Surg Nurses Week AMSN! I am truly honored to be part of this community. Continue to stay strong and care deeply for our patients!

Jacqueline Savalle, MS, RN, CMSRN
