We asked AMSN Members why and how they celebrate Med-Surg Nurses Week. Here's what member Colleen McCracken, MSN, RN, CMSRN, CHPN, OCN, had to say about her love for medical-surgical nursing:

AMSN: What do you love most about being a medical-surgical nurse?

Colleen McCracken, MSN, RN, CMSRN, CHPN, OCN (CM): I love being an oncology/medical-surgical nurse because of the incredible variety of complex illnesses I encounter in patient care. As an educator, I’m passionate about teaching medical-surgical nursing and truly appreciate the intricacies involved in providing exceptional care.
