Countdown to the 2024 AMSN Annual Convention: Grow, Connect, and Thrive

Countdown to the 2024 AMSN Annual Convention: Grow, Connect, and Thrive

By Jessica Tully, DNP, RN, CMSRN, CNML, CENP, CAVRN

I find myself eagerly counting down the days to the upcoming AMSN Annual Convention taking place Sept. 12–14 in Toronto, Ontario. This event represents not just a gathering of professionals but also an opportunity to immerse in the latest advancements, gain invaluable insights, and expand networks within the medical-surgical community.

One of the most thrilling aspects of this convention is the chance to deepen the understanding of current trends and best practices in medical-surgical nursing. From innovative treatment modalities to evidence-based practices, each session promises to enrich clinical knowledge and provide the tools needed to enhance patient care outcomes. Whether it's exploring new technologies in patient monitoring or discussing breakthroughs in post-operative care, the lineup of sessions is tailored to address the challenges and opportunities facing nurses today. Some of my most anticipated sessions include the use of virtual nursing and the new CAVRN (Certified Acute Virtual Registered Nurse) credential!

Networking at the convention holds equal significance. Engaging with fellow nurses, educators, and healthcare leaders from diverse backgrounds not only broadens perspectives but also fosters collaborations that can drive meaningful change in our field. The exchange of ideas during discussions often sparks innovative solutions to common clinical dilemmas, reinforcing the commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

The convention provides a platform to reconnect with mentors and peers, renew friendships, and forge new connections with professionals who share a passion for excellence in medical-surgical nursing. These interactions not only strengthen professional relationships, but I have also found support systems that extend beyond the convention walls.

There's an undeniable sense of camaraderie and shared purpose at the convention. It's a chance to celebrate the achievements of our profession and to reaffirm our dedication to lifelong learning and continuous improvement.

The anticipation for the AMSN Annual Convention is palpable. With each session attended and each conversation shared, I am confident that attendees will return rejuvenated and inspired. Attendees will be ready to apply newfound knowledge and insights to elevate practice and make a positive impact on patient care.

Here's to embracing the excitement and making the most of this invaluable opportunity to grow, connect, and thrive in the dynamic field of medical-surgical nursing! I hope to see you in Canada!
