CEO's Corner - December 2022
Time is such a strange construct. How many of you feel, like me, that 2021 flew by? I mean, it’s the end of
2021, and it feels like it was just yesterday we were all just so happy to put 2020 behind us as we looked forward
to a better 2021.
And yet, at the same time, it felt like this year would never end. We struggled with so much this year, with ongoing
COVID surges around the globe, political unrest, combating vaccine disinformation, and more.
At AMSN, a significant amount of our effort this year continued to center around providing
you with the resources you needed to be able to care for your patients and yourself.

We continued to advocate on your behalf at the organizational, professional, and federal level. We shifted our
convention to virtual for the second year in a row because of the surge experienced in Orlando in the month we were
planning to travel there.
While we were disappointed to not be able to get together, we were pleased with the attendee engagement at convention
and the community we enjoyed despite not being together in person. We look forward to getting together in person in
San Antonio in 2022.
What do we have in store for the remainder of this year and 2022?
We are still working on the final touches of our competency
framework and new educational offerings. We did encounter some delays based on SME availability, but
we’re just in final testing and formatting. Stay tuned for these resources to launch soon!
We’ll also be launching the remainder of the DEI assessment-based certificate program in 2022 and will be
working on additional products and services, including a new Career Center, updated Certification Review Questions
for certification preparation, an improved mentoring program, and more!
Lastly, as we head into the holidays, I wanted to send my very best wishes and a Happy Holidays to you and yours. I
wish you all the opportunity to spend time with those that bring you comfort and joy.
May you recharge your batteries, find some time for relaxation and restoration. Happy New Year, and may 2022 be the
year we hoped 2021 would be.
Regardless of what 2022 brings, rest assured that AMSN remains committed to providing you with the programs,
products, and services you need and to serve you, our membership, now and in the future.
