Federal Funding For Key Amsn Priorities Will Be Level As The New Fiscal Year Starts Oct. 1

Federal funding for key AMSN priorities will be level as the new fiscal year starts Oct. 1

Congress, at press time, was completing work on “continuing resolution” legislation keeping Uncle Sam open through Dec. 11.

AMSN supported the House passing increases for Title 8 nurse workforce development, the National Institute of Nursing Research, and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality late this summer. But the Labor-HHS-Education appropriations bill carrying these priorities was not taken up by the Senate.

Next step: Congress and the Administration will consider how to complete 2021 funding for the U.S. government during a post-election “lame duck” session in November and December. AMSN will continue joining with Nursing Community Coalition allies to support AMSN funding priorities!
