PITMAN, NJ – The Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses (AMSN)
has named several leaders to officer positions on its Board of Directors
(BOD): President Marisa Streelman, DNP, RN, CMSRN, NE-BC; Treasurer Cynthia Rothenberger, DNP, RN, ACNS, BC;
Secretary Patricia Bartzak, DNP, RN, CMSRN, TCRN, CNRN; and Immediate Past President Summer Bryant, DNP, RN, CENP,
CMSRN.
Joining the BOD as new directors are Kristi Campoe, PhD, RN, CMSRN, CPHQ, sMBA; Michael Szeliga, MSN, APRN, AGCNS-BC,
CMSRN; and Marie Mullins, BSN, RN, CMSRN, Emerging Professional. Additionally, Cynthia Frazer, MSN, RN, CMSRN, CNE,
joins the BOD as the MSNCB Representative, ex-officio.
These leaders will join current board members: Director Kristi Reguin-Hartman, MSN, APRN, ACNS-BC; Director Catherine
Skowronsky, MSN, APRN-ACNS-BC, CMSRN; and AMSN CEO Terri Hinkley, EdD, MBA, BScN, RN, CAE. The AMSN Board is
responsible for fulfilling the strategic plan, vision, and mission of the 10,000-member nursing association.
ABOUT THE NEW DIRECTORS
- Campoe serves as the U.S. Director of Clinical and Client Services for TillaCare, Ltd. based in
Israel. With over 28 years in the acute care setting, consulting, and academia, she is known for her ability to
lead innovative programs and enable business and clinical operations through evidence-based practice. As a
scientist, Dr. Campoe's program of research addresses medical-surgical nursing, patient safety, and medical
device safety while incorporating human factors. She is a Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse
(CMSRN®) and a Certified Healthcare Quality Professional (CPHQ). Her AMSN volunteer work includes service to
the MEDSURG Journal as an Editorial Board Member, leadership roles as President/Vice-President of AMSN
Florida Gulf Coast Chapter #223, and AMSN Research Grant Reviewer.
- Szeliga is a Clinical Nurse Specialist who has been practicing at ChristianaCare in Newark,
Delaware since 2018. Certified as an adult-gerontology clinical nurse specialist, medical-surgical registered
nurse, and healthcare quality professional, Michael has over 10 years of nursing experience in the acute care
setting. Within his organization, he is involved in a variety of unit-based, service-line, and system-level
initiatives that focus on improving nursing professional practice, the culture of safety, and patient outcomes.
In addition to volunteer work within AMSN, Michael is a member of various professional nursing organizations
nationally and within the Delaware Valley region.
- Mullins is a passionate leader with a strong commitment to develop nurses to their highest
potential through empowerment. After graduating from Texas Tech University in 2019, Marie worked for three years
as a medical surgical nurse. Marie has specialized in cardiac and neurological medicine at Baylor University
Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, and is a Certified Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN). She continues to
work towards clinical excellence within her organization through quality and leadership. Marie is currently
working towards earning her Master's of Science in Nursing Leadership from Grand Canyon University.
