AMSN Products and Services Releasing This Year
AMSN is excited for 2023 as we have many great updated products and programs to bring you this year. It’s important to keep our programs and services up-to-date and relevant so that they are resources for you in your practice. Below you’ll find a summary of the updates you can expect AMSN to release this year. So, stay tuned and keep an eye on your AMSN Connections newsletter and email.
Product Updates
AMSN Core Curriculum
AMSN’s Core Curriculum is the foundational body of knowledge for medical-surgical nursing practice. This must-have reference book is written by expert medical-surgical nurses who designed it for new and experienced nurses. The Core is updated every five years to ensure it stays relevant and up to date with the latest evidence-based practice and is used to guide practice for medical-surgical nursing around the country. It’s also a great certification preparation resource. We are putting the finishing touches on our sixth edition of the Core Curriculum, and it will launch in the fall of 2023.
AMSN Scope and Standards
The Scope and Standards delineates the professional scope and standards of medical-surgical nursing practice. It describes the responsibilities and competent level of behavior expected of all Registered Nurses practicing in the specialty of medical-surgical nursing. A task force of AMSN members is currently working on revising the Scope and Standards, and the 7th edition is expected to be complete before the end of the year.
AMSN Mentoring Program
AMSN offers a mentoring program that can be used as is or customized by medical-surgical units. The mentoring program consists of a mentor guide, mentee guide and site coordinator guide. These guides will help you design and implement a successful mentoring program of your own whether you are a mentor, mentee, or a mentoring program site coordinator at a hospital or other facility. These guides are designed to foster professional development in new graduate nurses and other nurses assuming a new role. You may use and customize the information and tools provided in any manner you deem appropriate for your organization or yourself. AMSN is updating the program currently and looks forward to releasing an update in the coming months.
